Palm vx touch pad freez after snyc.
Help!!!!! After doing a sync, it is asking to do a reset on the palm. After the reset, the stylus pen and home/calculator/search bottons dont respond and cant calibrate. The buttons on the bottom work fine (datebook, addressbook, up & down button, todo and memo).
Tried to install digifix and that didnt do anything, tried to rename my backup file in the user folder and that didnt work. Any body out there have any more suggestions or answer.

If you are having problems re-calibrating your digitizer's tablet, try this freeware "Digifix" version 1.2.1 available from the freewarepalm.com website.
Here is the URL: http://www.freewarepalm.com/utilities/digifix.shtml
It certainly saved me alot of headaches.

I have the same problem, and nothing works for me- I tried to download Digifix but it didn't help. A company at pdaspecialists.com tells me that a new screen will sovle this; cost is about $50 if you install yourself and about $70 plus shipping if you send it to them. I'm about ready to do this... did you get yours resolved????

Subject: I have a way to easily fix your digitizer problem.

I have the same problem with my Palm V running OS 3.3
Every time I did a soft reset, the digitizer calibration went so far off that I could no longer use my stylus.
However, with the help of a friend, I found a roundabout way to easily fix the problem. It's not a total cure, but it will enable you to calibrate your digitizer whenever you want, even after a soft reset.
This fix requires a Palm Hack called TealLaunch 2.60
(The lastest version 2.80 only works with OS 4.0)
A few years ago when I downloaded TealLaunch 2.60, it was freeware, but I see now that they're charging around $12.00 for it. Still, it's worth it!
Basically, this Hack allows you to program any combination of pen strokes and/or push buttons to launch any application.
I programmed holding down the "Memo" button to lauch "calibrate Pen". This way, even if the digitizer goes way off, I can always get the "Digitizer" application in Preferences to launch by holding down the Memo Pad button.
Instructions if you are starting from scratch. ie. after a Hard Reset:
1)Beam to your palm X-Master. You can download this from http://linkesoft.com/xmaster/ (you won't be aboe to install it from your computer because after you hotsync, the digitizer will be off. So ask a friend to install it on his palm and then beam it over to you. Do this for both X-Master and TealLaunch 2.60)
I have X-Master version 1.3. but I don't think it will be a problem to use the updated version.
Hackmaster caused me problems, so I prefer X-Master.
2)Beam to your Palm TealLaunch 2.60
3)Launch X-Master
4)Check the box next to TealLaunch 2.60
5) click "configure"
6) click "Pushbutton/Stroke Mapping"
7)scroll down until you see the word "Hold" with a picture of the "memo Pad" icon next to it.
8)click to the right of "Hold ", under the column "TL Closed" (That row will become highlighted)
9)click "Edit Action"
10)In the drop down menu to the right of the word "Closed", scroll down and click on "Calibrate Pen"
11) click "Ok"
12) click "done"
13) click "Ok" This will bring you back to the X-Master main screen.
14) click "menu" button
15) click "options"
16) click "Preferences"
17)check "Auto-Restore After Reset"
18) click "ok"
19) Hotsync palm
That's it. Now, after you hotsync, do a soft reset by pushing the pin in the back of your palm. You'll get a message asking if you want to reactivate your extensions. Just wait a few seconds and it will auto reset. Then, press and hold the Memo Pad button and the digitizer will come up.
Good Luck!

Thanks for the explanation.
However, how can you beam TealLaunch from one Palm to the other? It does not appear among all the applications....
Thanks
