Pocket Quicken 2.01 has a bug that adversely affects the new budget tool. The bug causes split transactions from Desktop Quicken to be stored as positive numbers, instead of negative numbers--like transactions that are entered directly into the Palm. This bug causes the budget tool to misreport the amount of money spent on a budget category. I have run numerous tests and found the problem to be repeatable. I have reported the problem to Landware (www.landware.com) who says that it will be fixed in a future release of the software, but will not release a short term fix, or patch.
For now the only work around, if you want to use the budget tool, is to enter all your split transactions directly into the palm. Any splits that are synced from the desktop will screw up the budget tool.
