I know I know you've seen and heard this one before. But Stop! Here is the deal. I (like others) was not happy with the display quality of the M505 (no contrast adjustment) and sought additional assistance in the form of Hacks. I installed GlowHack and even Bright505 and M505Supernova, all variations on a theme in that they turn on the backlight whenever the Palm is turned on, but none of them seem to overide my preferences for 'Auto off'. My palm is set up to 'stay on in cradle', and 'Auto Off after 3 mins'. The Auto Off feature appears to overide my display hack and consequently turns the backlight off! I am running Xmaster as my Hack controller (excellent I run Silverscreen 1.9.8 with Chromcast, and wonder if there is a compatability issue with any of these that you guys are aware of. In anticipation Terry

Subject: M505 Brightness Program

In regards having a program keep the brightness on your M505 when it's in the cradle, 505LightOn does this. It's at version 1.32 on PalmGear ( http://www.palmgear.com/software/showsoftware.cfm?sid=21335520010430140417&prodID=15197 ). It's worked really well for me (even keeping the state between soft resets) and it's free. I hope that helps! Tyler.
