I cannot get my Palm Vx to hotsync with my PC (Windows 98). The Log on the handheld states: "HotSync operation was terminated. Some of your data was NOT backed up. An application on the PC failed to respond to a confirmation query. This application may need to be restarted." Any advice would be appreciated

I did not give the full website address in my previous response about how to correct "Hotsync Error 8009". Go to: http://www.geocities.com/heartland/acres/3216/palmprobs.htm. It took me 30 seconds and I have not had a hotsync problem since.

I was able to find a solution on another website; www.geocities.com. Basically, if you have hotsync error #8009, the Registry entries for the Palm and Hotsync do not agree. I followed the steps from this website (it took 30 seconds) and am up an running.

Post Subject: Sony Clie Handheld

I just recently had my laptop exchanged with a new unit. I tryed re-installing my setup disk for Palm Desktop, along with Hotsync application. The setup disk would not allow me to access the install. The hour class would spin and then do nothing. I ended up downloading the software off the internet, but cannot get the hotsync to work at all. It's just not communicating. Can you please tell me what I am doing wrong. Just as an FYI, I have tried to re-load other software programs back into my new laptop, but in almost all cases the exe. files will not open. Thanks, Jack Alves
